For sellers who want a comics-specific marketplace alongside eBay. HipComic runs on an API key you request from Hip eCommerce, so the first step takes a day or two of waiting. Needs a Seller plan or above.
1. Ask Hip eCommerce for a key
Email support@hipecommerce.com from the address on your seller account and ask for a HipComic API key. Hip issues one key per platform, so say HipComic specifically. You get back a key string tied to your store.
2. Connect it
In Settings → Marketplaces, find the HipComic card and click Add API key. Enter your store name and the key. It is encrypted, and it goes live the moment you save.

3. List a single book first
Open an item, click Sell, tick HipComic, and Publish. Then open the listing on HipComic and read it end to end: title, issue, grade, price, category, photo. Fix anything that looks off before you push 200 books through.
4. Publish in bulk once it looks right
Select books in Inventory and publish them together. Listings are built from the item, so the quality of your inventory is the quality of your listings. A blank grade or a missing photo shows up in front of buyers.
5. Bring sales back
Use Sync Now on the HipComic card to mark sold books sold and record the orders. If you would rather work from a file, HipComic’s CSV export imports through the same card.
6. Ship and reconcile
Buy the label from the sale, then check profit after fees and postage. Detail: Shipping labels, Orders and customers.
Gotchas
- No key, no integration. Until Hip sends one, HipComic stays a manual channel.
- Check the category on your first listing. Category mapping is the piece most likely to need a correction.
- Sales arrive when you sync. Same as eBay: click Sync Now after a sale so stock stays right across channels.
