If your collection is somewhere else, you do not have to retype it. Export a CSV from whatever you use now and upload it. This page covers the specific apps we recognise. For the mechanics of column mapping and matching, see CSV import.
Apps we recognise automatically
Upload an export from any of these and the columns are detected for you, so there is nothing to map by hand:
- CLZ Comics
- League of Comic Geeks
- Comic Book DB
Anything else still works. You will just be asked which of your columns is the title, the issue number, and so on.
Importing from CLZ
A CLZ export is the richest of the three, and it is handled differently from the others. As well as your own copies, it can carry information about the comics themselves: barcodes, key issue notes, and prices.
Before that shared information is used, you are asked to confirm that you have the right to contribute it. That checkbox is not decoration. Your collection always imports either way; the confirmation only governs whether the shared parts are used.
Prices from an import are treated as one opinion, not the truth. A price only becomes the shared value for a comic when several separate accounts agree on it, and prices we already trust are never overwritten.
Sales from a till
Under Settings → Data you can upload a sales CSV from a point of sale system. That records what sold and for how much, and matches each line back to the comic in your inventory. This is for sales that already happened, not for adding stock.
Marketplace sales
Most marketplaces let you download a sales report. Importing one records those sales without connecting an account, which is useful for channels with no direct connection. See marketplaces.
What to expect afterwards
- Not everything will match. Comics are matched on title, issue and year. Unusual titles and variants sometimes do not match, and those come in without a cover or automatic pricing until you link them.
- Prices arrive over the following day. Importing does not price your collection instantly. Values fill in as the pricing run works through them.
- Import history is kept. Settings shows what you imported and when, which is the fastest way to work out where an odd entry came from.
Gotchas
- Importing twice creates duplicates. There is no automatic de-duplication between separate imports. Check the preview before confirming a second run.
- Condition wording differs between apps. Grades are mapped where the meaning is clear, but spot-check a few after your first import.
- Export from the other app first. We cannot read another service’s account directly, only a file you have exported.
