Claim sales

A claim sale is how comics sell on Instagram, YouTube, Facebook groups and TikTok. You show books with prices, people comment to claim, first claim wins. Then you chase payment and addresses over DMs. Claim Sales in Stash removes the chasing: every claim gets a pay link with a deadline, and a book nobody paid for goes to the next person in line. Needs a Seller plan or above.

The list

Claim Sales in the sidebar lists every sale with a badge: Active is taking claims, Ended is closed. Archive on a row ends the sale and moves it out of the list. Show archived brings the archived ones back into view, where Restore returns one to the list.

Start a claim sale

Click New claim sale, give it a name, and pick where you are running it: Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, TikTok, or Other. You land on the sale. Time to pay, shipping and pay link rules come from your settings, covered below.

Add comics and set prices

Add comics picks unsold books from your inventory. They appear as covers under Available, each with its price in large type on top of the cover. Click the price and type to change it. It saves when you click away or press Enter.

You can also add a book from the book itself. Open it in Inventory and, under Listed on, use Add to a claim sale. The book needs a price first.

When someone claims a book

Each cover has a drag handle in its bottom corner. Drag the book by the handle from Available to Claimed. It works with a mouse or a finger. With a keyboard, tab to the handle and press the down arrow. Stash asks for the buyer’s username. Save, and the pay link is created and copied. Paste it in a DM. The link also stays on the book’s card with a Copy button.

Agreed a different price in the DMs? Change the price on the cover in Claimed. The buyer’s pay link picks up the new amount.

Buyers can also claim for themselves if the sale page is on. Copy sale page link gives you a public page to put in your bio, a pinned comment, or a QR code on stream. The buyer taps Claim, enters their username and email, and goes straight to payment.

First claim holds the book

One buyer holds a book at a time. If a second person wants it, use Add a backup buyer on the card. They are next in line. Nobody in line is asked to pay until the book reaches them.

On each claimed book

  • Copy: the buyer’s pay link.
  • Paid another way: they paid outside Stash. See below.
  • More time: restarts their time to pay from now.
  • Drag it back to Available (or press the up arrow on its handle): takes the book off them. It goes to the next person in line, or back to Available. It does not count as a skipped payment.

What the buyer sees

The pay page shows the books, shipping, the total and the deadline. Pay now takes a card and collects the shipping address. US and Canada.

When a buyer pays

  • The book stays in Claimed and gets a Sold label.
  • The order lands in Orders with the address.
  • The buyer is saved in Customers.
  • The book is marked sold in Inventory.

Detail: Orders and customers.

When time runs out

The pay link expires. The book goes to the next person in line with a fresh deadline, or back to Available if nobody is waiting. A backup buyer who claimed on the sale page gets their pay link by email. For one you entered, copy the link from the card and send it.

A buyer who lets a pay link expire is flagged next to their username the next time they claim: Skipped payment 2 times.

The sales total

The top of every sale shows a running Sales total: everything claimed, split into what is paid and what is still owed. The same total is a column in the list. It includes shipping. To count the books alone, turn off Count shipping in sales totals in the claim sale settings.

Paid another way

For a buyer who paid by cash app or in person. Paid another way records the order and marks the books sold. No address is collected, so get it from the buyer. With one link per buyer, it settles every book on that buyer’s link.

End or archive the sale

End sale stops new claims. Pay links you already sent keep working until their deadline, so nobody mid-payment is cut off. An ended sale can be reopened or archived.

Settings

Settings on the list and on every sale opens Settings, Claim Sales. Changes apply to your open sales and every new one. Pay links you already sent keep the deadline and shipping they were created with.

  • Time to pay: 30 minutes, 1 hour, 4 hours, 24 hours, 48 hours, or 7 days. Starts at 24 hours.
  • Pay links: one link per buyer, covering every book they claim in a sale. Or one link per book, each with its own deadline.
  • Count shipping in sales totals: on by default.
  • Take it off other marketplaces: on by default. The moment a book is claimed, its other listings are ended so it cannot sell twice. Where Stash is connected it ends the listing there. Otherwise it marks the listing ended so you know to take it down. Listings are not put back if the buyer does not pay.
  • Let buyers claim on a sale page: on by default. Off, you record every claim.

Shipping

What a pay link adds for shipping is set in Settings, Shipping, under Claim sale shipping. It starts at $7.00 per book. Change the amount, switch to one flat amount per pay link, or set it to 0.00 if your prices include shipping. The same page holds your shipping presets for logged sales and your shipping label account.

What you need

  • A Seller plan or above.
  • Card payments set up once in Settings, Payments. Without it you can still run a sale, track claims, and use Paid another way. The pay link will tell the buyer to settle with you directly.

What Stash does not do

  • It does not read comments or DMs. A claim gets into Stash because you record it or the buyer claims on the sale page.
  • It does not post or message for you. You paste the pay link.
  • Card checkout ships to the US and Canada. For a buyer elsewhere, take payment outside Stash and use Paid another way.
  • Shipping is a set amount. Per book or per pay link. It does not change with weight or distance.
  • Stash takes no cut of the sale. The card processor’s standard fee still applies to card payments.
